In 2023, the Chinese Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) received almost 13,100 drug evaluation applications that were subjected to technical reviews. Around 9,800 of such applications were concerning chemical drug products, representing a growth of almost 40 percent from the previous year.
