Gustavo Petro, candidate for the coalition Pacto Histórico, received more than 11.2 million votes in the runoff of the Colombian 2022 presidential elections, held on June 19, 2022. Therefore, and having obtained more than half the votes, Petro won the presidential race and became the first elected left-wing president of Colombia. His opponent, Rodolfo Hernández, candidate for the Liga de Gobernantes Anticorrupción, obtained approximately 10.6 million votes.
