Xinjiang is expected to see the greatest solar power capacity additions of any Chinese province. As of June 2024, the province had planned to build almost 99 gigawatts of solar power capacity. With its large land area, low population density and plains, Xinjiang is the ideal location for large-scale wind power installments.
