In 2020, the annual precipitation in Indonesia amounted to around 3.1 thousand millimeters. The fundamental determinant of Indonesia's climate is rainfall, not temperature or air pressure. Indonesia has a variety of climates, the most common of which being tropical rainforest, which receives the most precipitation, followed by tropical monsoon and tropical savanna (lowest precipitation). The variations in rainfall are related to the monsoons and the western and northern parts of Indonesia experience the most precipitation.
