In 2023, around 38 percent of millenials (also known as Generation Y) identified as workaholics. Almost 24 percent of people in Generation X stated that they cut back on work so that they could spend more time with their family. The Allensbach Market and Advertising Media Analysis (Allensbacher Markt- und Werbeträgeranalyse or AWA in German) determines attitudes, consumer habits and media usage of the population in Germany on a broad statistical basis.

Characteristic
Those who are fully focused on their career or education and are working hard for this (workaholic)
Those who would rather reduce time spent working to have more time for their family (family-oriented)

Generation Z: persons who were 12 to 26 years old at the time of the survey and born between 1996 and 2009.
