Over the past three years, Wire Transfer Available, or Transferência Eletrônica Disponível (TED) in Portuguese, has been the payment method responsible for the highest transaction values in Brazil. However, Pix, the payment system developed by the Central Bank of Brazil, has grown rapidly and, by 2024, ranks second in terms of financial volume, surpassing traditional bank transfers and card payments.

PIX is a fast and convenient payment system in Brazil, enabling individuals and businesses to transfer money instantly, 24/7, including weekends and holidays. Developed by the Central Bank of Brazil, it gained popularity due to its free use for personal transactions. Users only need basic information, such as a phone number, email, or a unique code (known as a "PIX key"), to send or receive money.
