Algeria led the exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Africa as of 2023. The country exported 19 billion cubic meters of LNG that year. Nigeria followed, with an export volume of 17.5 billion cubic meters. Overall, LNG exports from Africa slightly decreased in 2022 in comparison to 2021.
