The total number of overnight stays in hotels in the Netherlands grew significantly in 2023 over the previous year, recovering from the impact of COVID-19. After declining to under 29 million in 2020 due to the pandemic, hotel overnight stays bounced back in 2022, then reached nearly 62 million in 2023, the highest figure reported to date. When breaking down the nationality of hotel guests in the Netherlands that year, domestic travelers spent the highest number of nights at hotels, followed by German and British tourists.
