According to a survey conducted in South Korea in December of 2021, 36.7 percent of respondents who either were vegetarian or had tried a plant-based diet in the past answered that they adopted a vegetarian diet to lose weight. 35.3 percent of respondents answered that they took up a plant-based diet for health reasons.
