According to a survey of general practitioners and patients conducted in November 2020 in selected European countries, during the COVID-19 global outbreak, more than six in 10 German general practitioners used mobile healthcare apps, while only 17 percent of patients reported doing the same. Usage among patients was low also in the Netherlands, with 17 percent of Dutch patients using healthcare apps, while usage among general practitioners interested almost half of all the surveyed doctors.
