According to a survey conducted in South Korea in December of 2021, more than 90 percent of respondents were not vegetarian or vegan. Only 0.2 percent of respondents considered themselves to have vegetarian diets and merely 0.03 percent answered that they were vegans.

A vegetarian diet was categorized as a diet that excludes meat but includes vegetables, fruits, and dairy products such as milk and eggs. Partial vegetarian diets include diets like flexitarian, pollo, pescetarian, ovo, lacto-ovo, lacto, and vegan diets.
