Germany was the world's largest importer of cartonboard in 2022, with imports amounting to approximately 1.5 million metric tons. The United States and Poland were the second and third-largest importers that year, at 1.4 and 990.57 thousand metric tons, respectively. Cartonboard, which is also known as boxboard, is a type of paperboard used for manufacturing folding cartons. The global consumption of cartonboard is expected to increase by 27 percent between 2021 and 2032.
