The value of reinsurance premiums in Sub-Saharan Africa generally increased between 2011 and 2020, albeit with some fluctuation. In 2020, reinsurance premiums in this region reached a value of almost five billion U.S. dollars - a slight increase of around 46 million U.S. dollars from the previous year. Overall, reinsurance premiums in Sub-Saharan Africa increased by approximately 2.2 billion U.S. dollars since 2011. In 2020, insurance premiums in Sub-Saharan Africa reached well over 50 billion U.S. dollars.
