The global production capacity of phosphate rock (also known as phosphorite) amounted to some 243 million metric tons in 2020, up from 226 million metric tons in 2016. Phosphate rock production capacity worldwide is forecast to reach 264.7 million metric tons in 2025. This figure represents an increase of roughly nine percent when compared to the production capacity of 2020.
