In 2022, there were more than 4.8 million new cancer cases in China. The six most common cancers represented around 65 percent of all new cases, with lung, colorectum and thyroid cancers being the most widespread. Breast cancer, although the most common cancer globally, only ranked sixth in China, responsible for less than ten percent of the total cancer cases.
