In 2020, more than 20 percent of job candidates in Germany claimed being frequently contacted by potential employers through messages sent on career networking platforms such as Xing or LinkedIn. Moreover, instant messaging platforms like WhatsApp or Telegram were not as frequently used by German employers to approach suitable candidates as other platforms: as it seems, less than eight percent of candidates declared being contacted through those channels during that same year.
