Rail freight volume dropped in 2020, compared to 2019. This was due to a drop in demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The steepest drops in freight volume were recorded in April and May 2020, each losing respectively 20 and 18 percent of net ton-kilometer year-over-year.
