In 2023, the outward foreign direct investment (FDI) from China as a share of global FDI outflows ranged at approximately 11.4 percent. In 2020, the Chinese share had reached the highest figure on record, which was related to growing FDI outflows from China in an environment of dropping global FDI flows due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
