Turkey was the main destination for European Union exports of plastic waste in 2023, with a volume of 315,620 metric tons. Malaysia ranked second that year, receiving over 283,000 metric tons of plastic waste from EU member states. Turkey became the main destination for EU plastic waste exports in 2020.
