Socioeconomic empowerment of women in Nigeria 2019
In a study from 2020, various factors were taken into account to analyze the socioeconomic empowerment of women in a society, such as female employment, access to financial services, and maternity leave. Between 2009 and 2019, around 29 percent of senior and middle management positions in Nigeria were occupied by women. Moreover, 27 percent of women aged 15 and older had an account at a financial institution or with a mobile money-service provider. Lastly, women in Nigeria were entitled to 84 days of paid maternity leave.
