Kevin Durant, an American basketball player, had the most followers on Facebook and Twitter, with a total of 31.2 million followers. Among the most tweeted Olympic athletes between June and August 2021, though, Kevin Durant was the fourth. The second most followed Olympic athlete was Brazilian football player Dani Alves, with around 19 million followers on Facebook and Twitter combined. Another basketball player, Jason Tatum, completed the list of top 10 most followed Tokyo 2020 athletes with almost 850,000 followers in total.
