As of 2020, the value of assets under management of China's wealth management industry amounted to 118 trillion yuan. The rapid growth of AUM value before 2016, which was powered by "quasi" wealth managers, stopped after the turbulences at China's stock markets. The size of professional managers, however, grew continuously.
