In the past year and a half, the housing market in California has been booming. In March 2022, the median sales price of a single family home in the San Francisco Bay Area was 12.2 percent higher than the initial price of the listing. Condo buyers paid on average seven percent above the list price. As a result of the robust demand for California properties, single family homes prices saw substantial increase across the whole state.
