When surveyed for the main reasons of the challenges faced in importing goods, 43.4 percent of the wholesale and retail businesses in the United Kingdom (UK) stated that the end of Brexit-induced EU transition period was the leading reason. In contrast, only seven percent of the surveyed businesses stated that coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic alone was the main reason for their problems with importing activities in the four-week period between August 1, 2022 and August 31, 2022.
