As of November 2021, the government of Singapore has approved 150 work permits for foreigners under the Tech.Pass scheme, an increase from 22 as of the first quarter of 2021. The Tech.Pass scheme, introduced in January 2021, aims to attract top tech talents from around the world to Singapore. Some advantages for those who qualify for the Tech.Pass include being able to start and operate a business in Singapore, the possibility of serving on the board of directors, or investing or being a shareholder in a Singapore-based company.
