The Phystech-Lyceum of Natural Sciences and Mathematics named after P.L. Kapitza in Dolgoprudny received the highest score in the ranking of Russian secondary schools by competitiveness of graduates in 2024. That indicated that this institution had the largest share of graduates successfully enrolling in the country's leading universities. It was followed by the Advanced Educational Scientific Center (faculty) at Kolmogorov’s boarding school of Moscow State University (AESC MSU). Some of the schools, like the AESC MSU, were boarding schools for talented students, aimed at preparing them for school competitions and university admission. Several schools in the ranking focused on physics and mathematics.

The source specified the following information:
The ranking shows the schools with the highest share of graduates who successfully enroll in Russia's best higher education institutions in the past two years.
The number of secondary school graduates enrolled in each partner university was multiplied to a complex university coefficient, as well to a weighted coefficient of reason of enrollment of a graduate. The result was divided by the number of total graduates of a secondary school in the past two years.
The complex university coefficient was calculated by multiplying the index of average Unified State Exam results of each university and the university's rank in RAEX's university rating.
The highest coefficient of reason of enrollment of graduates was set when they were enrolled without having to take admission exams due to their high school competition results. A lower score was given when graduates received state-funded study places, and the lowest when they received fee-based places or were admitted as part of targeted enrollment.
