The hot tub trend on Twitch led the platform, primarily meant for video game streaming, to offer a new category titled 'Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches' in May of 2021. That same month, there were a total of 9.83 million streamers in this category. This figure however fell to less than half that amount the following month.
