Daily sales volume of NFT collection CryptoPunks to August 3, 2024

Sales in CryptoPunks were especially high in August 2021, even though the NFT art collectible was already four years old by that time. Originally launched in June 2017 by U.S. software developer Larva Labs, CryptoPunks refers to an NFT collection of collection of 24x24, 8-bit-style pop art pixel portraits. There are 10,000 of such portraits, each displaying a certain personality and showcasing a combination of randomly generated features, from traits to accessories. These pieces of definitive and unalterable crypto art could be claimed for free when the project launched, but have since grabbed the attention of crypto investors as their ownership rights could be traded on the Ethereum blockchain - and are regarded as a reliable cryptocurrency investment. Indeed, some of the most expensive NFT sales worldwide involve CryptoPunks.
