At the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, Europe accounted for the highest total number of regulated open-end funds worldwide. Europe had the highest number of mutual funds that quarter, 57,347 in total. This was followed by the Asia Pacific region, with a total of 37,494 mutual funds at the end of the fourth quarter of 2022. The Americas had the largest volume of exchange traded funds (ETFs) and money market funds, with a total of 3,981 and 975 funds, respectively.
