In the fourth quarter of 2019, Tesla was the automotive brand with the highest web visibility. The brand had unveiled plans for its first electric pickup, the Cybertruck, in November of that same year, with the Tesla Model 3 launching earlier in February, which boosted the brand's visibility. Tesla was followed by BMW and Toyota, which also generated a high volume of conversations across the web.

The index is based on a score of 100. The source specifies that "the leading brand receives a score of 100, and scores for all other brands are normalized against it". It further adds that web visibility refers to "the volume of conversation a brand generates across the web, including blogs, forums and news outlets".
