In 2021, one-third of female victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault, had not sought professional help after the incident, neither they talked to a friend about their situation. Only 19 percent of victims decided to consult with a psychiatrist or a psychologist. In 2022, the French security services recorded more than 34,000 cases of rape against women.
