According to a survey on April 2021, 26 percent of respondents identified employment loss as among the leading cause of peace and order problems during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the Philippines. Among the other causes of peace and order problems were lack of sufficient food and water as well as conflicting information and interpretation of government guidelines.
