In 2020, about 57 percent of firms owned by females in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region were small firms with less than 20 employees. About 2.6 percent of firms in the region were fully owned by women. Countries in conflict and in transition had smaller employment growth than the rest in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
