Value of live corals exported from Indonesia 2015-2022
In 2022, the value of live corals exported from Indonesia amounted to over 179 billion Indonesian rupiah. Indonesian government significantly decreased its coral exports in 2017 and banned the practice in May 2018 as most of corals, coral farmers, and its trade in Indonesia lacked proper documentation. After Pudjiastuti left the office in late 2019, the trade ban for cultured corals, and later wild corals, was lifted.
