Russian ferrous metals companies would have to pay a total carbon border tax of 443 billion Russian rubles to the European Union between 2026 and 2035, according to the estimates. Furthermore, the gas and chemical industry was projected to pay over 175 billion Russian rubles to the EU in that 10-year period.
