As of 2023, the industry sector held the largest proportion of Moroccan direct investments abroad, at approximately 18.5 billion Moroccan dirhams (MAD), around 1.9 billion U.S. dollars. This was followed by the energy and mining sector, with an outward direct investment of almost 3 billion MAD, roughly 279.2 million U.S. dollars.
