Assets under management of BlackRock 2023, by investment style and client type
Of the 10 trillion U.S. dollars of assets held at the end of 2023 by asset management company BlackRock, the largest portion was for exchange traded funds (ETFs), followed by non-ETF index funds, and then active mutual funds. Each of these investment styles held over 2.5 trillion dollars in total assets. Most of these assets were held by institutional investors, which accounted for almost 5.6 trillion U.S. dollars of BlackRock's total assets.
