In 2019, a survey on herbal product preference and awareness in Thailand found that the majority of consumers among those who had not used herb-infused products stated that they were not confident in the quality of the ingredients. Other leading reasons were disbelief in the effectiveness of the product and fear of potential side effects.
Leading reasons for not using herbal products among consumers in Thailand in 2019
Figures are based on 233 out of 2,127 people who have never used herbal-infused products.
Other reasons include personal aversion against the smell of herbal products, no reason to use these products, and does not know the medicinal properties of the products.
Herbal products include any herb-infused products which may be supplements, medicine, personal care items, food and beverage items, and cosmetics.
