As per a 2024 survey, 71 percent of respondents in India declared that they trusted 'Times of India', a national daily newspaper published in English. The overall trust in the news media also seemed to have increased slightly that election year. However, online news platforms Scroll.in and The Wire saw the highest levels of distrust among the surveyed media.

The source states that the survey results are not nationally representative since it was unable to reach all groups of the Indian population through an online survey. The selection of news brands in this survey does not include all news outlets in India and, thus, is not a list of the most trusted news brands in India.
