The Summer Olympic Games is one of the biggest sporting events in the world and takes place every four years. Initially due to be hosted in Tokyo in 2020, this international competition was postponed by one year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. During a survey in May and June 2021, around 58 percent of French respondents stated they disagreed with the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympic Games going ahead even if the pandemic wasn't over yet.
