Holding the Tokyo Olympics during COVID-19 public opinion worldwide in June 2021
Millions of sports fans across the world tune into the Summer Olympics, which were scheduled to be held in Tokyo in 2020 but were postponed to the following year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In a survey among adults worldwide in 2021, 57 percent of all respondents surveyed stated that they did not think the Tokyo Olympics should go ahead if the COVID-19 pandemic was ongoing. South Korea was the country with the highest amount of respondents who though the Tokyo Olympics should not be held during the pandemic. Meanwhile, Turkey was the country with the highest amount of respondents of the opinion that the Tokyo Olympics should go ahead.
