Based on an online survey carried out between June and July 2020, 43 percent of the Southern African businesses that took part in the study approached commercial banks for support during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Moreover, some 33 percent contacted the public sector and state, while 16 percent sought support from microcredit agencies.
