As of May 2021, the number of stock trading accounts opened through Kakao Bank's stock account opening service amounted to about 4.17 million, up from around three million in December 2020. Since the service was launched in 2019, the number of stock accounts opened through Kakao Bank's platform has grown rapidly. Kakao Bank enables customers to open a brokerage firm account by simply using the bank account information already registered.
