The New Madrid coal-fired power station in Missouri produced 10,019 short tons of nitrogen oxide (NOx) in 2023. Although this was a decrease of 35 percent from 2022 levels, New Madrid was still the largest contributor to U.S. power sector NOx emissions in 2023.
