As of March 2021, the total value of capital and reserves from commercial banks in Tanzania was nearly 5.5 trillion Tanzanian shillings (TZS), roughly 2.4 billion U.S. dollars. It increased from around 5.4 trillion TZS (2.3 billion U.S. dollars) in the preceding year. Compared to 2014, capital and reserves in Tanzanian banks grew by over 85 percent.
