The European questionnaire on Information and Communication Technologies Data reveals that there exists a disparity between the internet usage of people from different age groups. This disparity although present in most countries, differs widely in its severity.
In 2020, on average 69 percent of internet users across the EU-27 countries between 16 and 24 responded that that they used the internet to research information about goods and services online. The oldest group, aged between 55 and 64, was least likely to research goods and services online, with only 58 percent across the European Union (EU-27).

The aim of the European ICT surveys is the timely provision of statistics on individuals and households on the use of Information and Communication Technologies at European level. Data coverage corresponds to Dataset [ISOC_BDE15CUA] code [I_IUIF] of the (Information and Communication Technologies) survey.
