Venezuela's oil refinery throughput has been on a mostly downward trend over the past decade. In 2023, the South American country reported a throughput of 137 thousand barrels per day, a slight decrease when compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, in comparison to 2014, this figure declined by nearly 80 percent. Meanwhile, in this period, Venezuela's refining capacity has remained stable at roughly 1,300 thousand barrels per day.
