In 2021, 1,920 deaths from malaria were reported in Tanzania. Compared to the previous year, the number of casualties decreased from 2,549. Malaria is one of the main health issues in the country. Around 4.5 million cases of the disease were confirmed in Tanzania as of 2021. According to the source estimates, deaths from malaria in Tanzania represented four percent of the global fatalities due to the disease that year.
