The prevalence of stunting among children in India under the age of five in 2022 saw a substantial decrease with less than 32 percent. By contrast in 2012, stunting among children was close to 42 percent of the entire population. Economic inequality among other socio-economic determinants is one of the major factors for malnutrition in India.
