During a 2021 survey fielded in Brazil, 25 percent of the responding female internet users reported a high level of Zoom fatigue. Despite being named after the software developed by Zoom Video Communications, the term "Zoom fatigue" refers to a state of tiredness related to one's self-image during online video calls and meetings in general. Among male respondents in Brazil, the share was nearly three times lower and added up to 8.5 percent. As of January 2021, over one-third of social media users in Brazil were women aged between 18 and 44 years.
